This course is designed for qualified instructors who want to develop their understanding of working with older adults. If you're still in training or haven’t completed an entry-level instructor qualification yet, we recommend finishing that first before taking this CPD.
Yes. While the course is specifically aimed at indoor cycling instructors, other fitness professionals may find the information useful, especially if they work with older adults in other contexts. However, to instruct indoor cycling you will also need an entry-level certificate. This course is CPD and assumes a level of instructing knowledge and competence.
This CPD will help you adapt your teaching approach to better meet the needs of older adults, but it's not a standalone qualification to teach special populations. It’s an enhancement to your existing instructor training, giving you the knowledge to teach with more confidence, safety, and effectiveness.
You don't need to be an instructor to do this training, you could be just interested in indoor cycling and wanting to get more out of it yourself, but in order to instruct indoor cycling, you'll need to hold a valid entry-level indoor cycling instructor certificate setting. This course is Continuing Professional Development (CPD) rather than entry-level training.
Yes, on successful completion of the course and all required tasks, you’ll receive a CPD certificate from the Indoor Cycling Institute.
Yes, you’ll complete short knowledge checks and submit a sample session plan adapted for older adults. Full guidance is provided throughout the course.
